Right then lets go through some basic selling steps that you must follow if you wish to make any money on eBay.
1. Ebay item listing Tittle
This is without doubt the most important part of your listing. Ebay have recently increased the number of characters you can out in your tittle. This makes it easier, you should always ALWAYS! use every character available. Use the first 3-5 words to say what the item actually is. These words should be aimed at the potential customer. Try to think of the tittle as a tool to manipulate ebays "best match" search to get you as near to the top of the listings as possible. the higher in the search results you are the more traffic you will get. Now you do have to be a little careful as you cannot just blatantly lie. Ebay do have a keyword spamming policy and if you break it they will just pull your listing.Lets go through an example. We will be using the keyword tools on the previous page.
Lets use say some jewellery, lets go for a silver plated chain with a heart pendant on it.
So first I go to ebay pulse and change the category to "jewellery & Watches" which gives me this list of keywords.
1. jewelry
2. mens watches
3. earrings
4. ring
5. watch
6. necklace
7. rolex
8. bracelet
9. rings
10. gold
Right 2 of those keywords apply to my item so we have a start "Jewelry Necklace". Next we go in another level to Fashion Jewellery giving us the following list:
1. earrings
2. necklace
3. jewelry
4. bracelet
5. ring
6. rings
7. swarovski
8. watch
9. fashion jewelry
10. bracelets
So can we use any of those? Well we already have "Jewelry Necklace" so I would just add fashion jewelry.
So Our tittle is now "Jewelry Necklace New Fashion Jewelery" I added the word new just so it makes a bit more sense also new is always a good word to use.
So we go in another level to necklaces and pendants giving us these keywords.

2. jewelry
3. swarovski
4. gold
5. long necklace
6. pearl necklace
7. fashion jewelry
8. silver
9. cross
10. betsey johnson
So taking it onwards I would come up with
"Jewelry Necklace New Fashion Jewelery Silver Plated Long Necklace"
We should not be far off full at that. That was just a quick example dont forget we didn't even use the ebay popular items or ebay popular keyword search if we had combined the 3 then it would probably be better still. There are also standard fill words like Gift, Gifts, Him, Her, Dad, Mum etc that you can use to fill it up.
Do not worry if your eBay tittle does not make to much sense as a sentence its just a tool to get ebay to send you more traffic. I will show you how to make a killer picture and description so your customer will know exactly what they are buying. WARNING: Don't be tempted to use words like "betsey johnson" as this is probably a brand and will just get you in hot water with ebay. We are not here to lie just bend the words a bit to suit us.
